Yin yoga is a therapeutic practice that is an amazing complement to flow yoga and high intensity workouts (like running, triathloning, etc.). It's also great for people whose bodies are stiff from sitting at a desk all day.
Unlike my flow offerings, in Yin you hold seated and supine poses for 3-5 minutes, using pillows and props to set yourself up comfortably. This allows you to really sink into the poses, allowing the muscles the opportunity to stretch and release tension.
